Poll on Perceptions of the National Pension System

Asked whether the contribution burden and pension benefits of the National Pension are fair across generations, 65.9% of respondents said the system is not fair, rising to 84% among those aged 18-29 and in their 30s. With the 2025 parametric reform now in effect, 47.1% said further reform is needed, against 34.8% who would wait and see how the current reform plays out, and the call for further reform was strongest among the young. An automatic adjustment mechanism that would curb annual benefit increases drew more opposition (42.7%) than support (32.6%), including among those who want further reform. On the future contribution burden after the fund is depleted, 56.0% said the burden should be reduced in consideration of future generations.
