AI and Employment: Evidence to Date and the Outlook Ahead

Aggregate employment data do not yet show broad AI-driven job loss, but administrative data in the United States and Korea indicate pressure at the entry point of the labor market. Policy should distinguish exposure from displacement and protect the first rungs of young people's careers while enabling productivity-enhancing adoption.
